Reusable Gift Bag
Learn to make reusable gift basket or bag in time for Christmas!
The low waste pattern, designed by Jenny, has lots of options to make it unique - it can be made into a basket (with or without handles) , a drawstring bag or button-sealed pouch
In this class, you’ll be making drawstring option - perfect for reusable gift wrapping or making a hamper of little gifts for someone.
Jenny will also show you the many ways you can adapt the basic pattern for different finishes and gift wrapping ideas!
What is low-waste sewing pattern?
A sewing pattern where as much of the fabric is used to create an item. Patterns are designed to reduce the amount of waste leftover, which might otherwise be thrown away. In some cases, patterns can be zero-waste where every part of the fabric is used.
The Basket Pattern
Reusable as gift bags, or storing items
It is a lined basket, either with the same or a different fabric
Multiple options for different closings, or keep it as an open basket
Easy to scale the pattern to different sizes (basic maths required)
A great basic which can be made unique with your own creativity
No paper pattern pieces
No overlocking required - straight stitch only.
