My sewing room is open to you to join different types of classes.
As well as Sewing classes, I would love you to join Printmaking classes or the more casual “Open Studio”.
Find out more about the options below.
Classes
Sewing Classes
Join a class to learn to sew up a particular project; shirts, dresses or zero-waste patterns.
Classes will have different ability levels, with patterns provided as part of the cost of the class. Classes are aimed to help you learn how to measure, cut and sew up items, with extra skills specific to the pattern.
These classes may be run across one-day or multiple sessions or dates.
Print and Stitch Classes
Get super creative with printmaking onto fabric using various techniques. Then you’ll stitch up your textile into something wearable or useable.
You will be guided through different printmaking techniques, with paints and tools provided.
These classes may be run in one-day or across multiple sessions or dates.
Explore Printmaking
Get super creative with printmaking onto fabric using various techniques.
You will be guided through different printmaking techniques, with paints and tools provided.
We have 2hr classes (“MINI”) if you’re short of time, or a more relaxed 4hour session to really get stuck into exploring textures and colours.
Open Studio
Bring your machine and project. Jenny will be on hand so you can get help as you make progress.
This is not a guided session, and less formal than a class. Ironing, cutting and basic tools provided
These will be 2 - 3hours.
Private 121 or group
If you want dedicated help getting to know your machine or progress on a particular project, get in touch to arrange something personal to you.
Or perhaps you and friends want a friendly space to hang out and sew or print together? I’d love to create a fun few hours where you can learn together.
I have my first floor studio open with all the tools we need to sew or print, but I can always come to you if that suits you better.
Drop me an email to discuss a private lesson for you or for you and your friends.
Whilst most of my classes are aimed at adults over 18, I can accommodate younger students in classes or private bookings. Students under 16 may need to be accompanied by an adult - please get in touch to discuss.
What to bring to class or session?
You will receive details from Jenny for what you will need to bring with you including fabric and haberdashery items.
If you don’t have a working machine, please make sure you let Jenny know before or at time of booking. There are two machines available to borrow for classes if needed; Pfaff Ambition 620 or Bernina 1008. These are reserved for students on a first-come, first-serve basis.
If you are attending a printmaking class, wear old clothing or bring an apron - the class can get messy!
For printmaking, bring along inspirational images, colours or patterns you may want to recreate.
Basic teas, coffees and a selection of biscuits will be provided for every session. If you have any dietary requirements, do let Jenny know at time of booking. You are welcome to bring your own teabags, snacks and favourite slippers to sew in!
For longer sessions with a scheduled lunch break, students are asked to bring their own food. A separate kitchen and dining space are available to use.
When you sign up to a class or workshop, you are agreeing to the
Terms and Conditions of Sew It Jenny Workshops.
